Starter

Working as part of the British Horseracing Authority Raceday Officials team, the Starter is in charge of ensuring that each horse has a fair start and ensuring the race starts on time. The Starter will work closely with stewards and stalls handlers.

What you’ll do

Day-to-day tasks

  • Ensuring the race meeting is run in accordance with the BHA Rules and Instructions
  • You will have knowledge of starting rules and procedures and competent computer skills.
  • The role also requires work outside the normal working day including evenings,
