You will find Ed and the team on ITV Racing throughout the year.
Ed Chamberlin is an ITV Racing Presenter and here is his career story.
“Every day is different in this job! From January 1st 2017 a normal working week will involve going to ITV HQ in London for production meetings with my editor to plan the weekend’s show. Friday is a prep day, plus travelling to the relevant racecourse, and Saturday is show time!
However, weeks like the Cheltenham Festival, Aintree, Royal Ascot, Glorious Goodwood, Newmarket’s July Meeting, York, etc. will be very different, due to the sheer popularity and size of those meetings.
I loved my 16 years spent at Sky Sports and presenting Super Sunday and Monday Night Football, but presenting horse racing has always been my dream job. I started out in the industry via the British Horseracing Graduate Programme back in 1996, followed by a placement at Ladbrokes, and this opportunity was just too good to miss.
Going racing on a regular basis and having access to the best yards in the business have to be the best part of the job. A recent visit to Ballydoyle and Closutton will live long in the memory, and things like that easily make up for the perils of live television!
If I had to give just one piece of advice it would be to chase your dream. If you want a career in the media, get as much journalistic experience as you can from the earliest age possible. Journalism holds the key.”
