Marketing Manager

The role of the Marketing Manager is to work with colleagues to lead and drive the commercial success of the racecourse business through optimising plans and execution.

They develop innovative and targeted campaigns to increase attendance and revenue, whilst working with design colleagues to deliver timely, appropriate, up-to-date marketing campaigns and activity to drive increased sales.

Main Duties of a Marketing Manager

  • Work with colleagues to develop the commercial plan and drive ticketing, hospitality and sponsorship revenue to achieve KPIs and Targets.
  • Allocate resources to meet business needs, lead and manage the sales team, ensuring the client portfolio is effectively managed.
  • Manage communications effectively, both internal and external to the organisation.

  • Experience developing, delivering, and optimising marketing campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, audience engagement, and performance metrics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop engaging content and campaigns.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to build trusted and productive relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and effective task management.
  • High standards of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace culture and upholding organisational values and codes of conduct.
  • Proficient in the use of technology and systems, including advanced Microsoft Office applications and photo editing software.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of the British Horseracing industry and its key stakeholders.
  • Understanding of social impact and community engagement initiatives.
  • Awareness of horse and human welfare principles within the racing industry.
  • Knowledge of environmental sustainability best practices.
  • Experience working within a sporting, membership, or regulated environment.

Working Condition

  • Full-time or part-time roles available.
  • Working hours can include preparation, travel and attendance at race meetings on weekdays, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
